Talent Booking

About SotA Talent Booking

All stage talent booking for our 2008 summer season is complete! All promotional packages will be accepted online begining in the summer of 2008 for the 2009 season. Please check back in August 2008 for details on how you can submit your promotional package to us online.

 

Summer of the Arts creates nearly 100 premier opportunities for musicians, Iowa Filmmakers, and other stage performers to showcase their talents throughout our season. Below is a bit of information about who we are interested in booking for each of our festivals.  Please indicate in your cover letter which festival(s) you are interested in. Due to the extremely high number of submissions, only those whom we are interested in booking will be contacted. Please rest assured that promotional packages are kept for at least one year. Emails referencing online promotional packages will be reviewed as well. Please be advised that we only hire/show work that is family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

 

The Friday Night Concert Series presented by The Iowa City Press-Citizen:

FNCS books Johnson County bands only. At least one member of the band must reside in Johnson County, or, the band must be considered to be a "Johnson County" band. This consideration is at the sole discretion of the FNCS booking committee.

 

The Saturday Night Free Movie Series:

Iowa Filmmakers are encouraged to send a DVD of their short film (under 10 minutes). Musicians are also hired to perform for one hour prior to the start of the movie. Solo artists or duets are preferred.

 

Landlocked Film Festival:

Iowa's International Film Festival - accepts independent films from around the world in all catergories and genres. Film submissions may be made online at www.withoutabox.com

The Iowa Arts Festival:

Children’s performers of all kinds are featured on our Family Stage for our Global Village and Children’s Day activities. Strolling performers are sometimes hired. Our main stage typically features local openers and well-known national or international headliners.

 

The Toyota-Scion of Iowa City Jazz Festival:

As one of the nation’s top 10 jazz festivals, The Toyota-Scion of Iowa City Jazz Festival features well-known national and international acts on the main stage. Three side stages feature performers in the following areas: "Youth" (performers high school age and younger), "College" (performers associated with a college or university), and “Local" (musicians from the Iowa City Area).

Landlocked Film Festival

Landlocked Film Festival is Iowa City's International Film Festival. The 2007 festival debuted as the largest film festival in Iowa featuring over 60 films from around the world on five screens.
